Step In the Blender is about parenting.   I was born to a single mother and raised in a stepfamily and now I’m both a BioMom and a StepMom. Because I’m a BioStep, I see things from both sides of the fence.  Sometimes it’s not pretty.  I like to look at the ugly stuff and figure out why we act the way we do.  I’m not a therapist.  I’m just a 40-something working mom looking for a way to navigate through my own uncharted waters. 

Our BioStep family consists of 2 of his, 2 of mine and 1 that’s ours.  My three BioKids live with us full-time.  His kids are with us every other weekend.  Final score:  boys 1, girls 4.  DH and I have been together since 2006, and while we are not legally married yet (too many complications to go down that road), we do refer to each other as “husband” and “wife”. 

Our life may seem complicated to the casual observer, but it’s really quite blissful here in the blender.
